City of Houston's Call for Water: May 11, 2024 8:00pm

CONROE, TX -- The City of Houston has requested the San Jacinto River Authority (SJRA) divert water from Lake Conroe for delivery to Lake Houston via the West Fork of the San Jacinto River. As a result, SJRA is currently releasing 660 cubic feet per second (cfs) from the dam in accordance with SJRA and the City of Houston's jointly held Texas Commission on Environmental Quality water rights permit for Lake Conroe.

Both the City of Houston and SJRA have water rights in Lake Conroe. The City of Houston owns 2/3 and SJRA owns the remaining 1/3.
