Our technicians complete over 100 hours of continuous training per year to stay current on today’s state of the art automobile.
Byrd automotive is the only local independent repair facility to have on hand factory computer scan tools just like the dealerships to effectively and efficiently communicate and retrieve trouble codes, reset maintenance lights, observe data logic, and reprogram your cars multiple computers systems if required.
Our technicians have not one but 3 information systems for every make and model car sold in the US. These information systems contain complete factory maintenance schedules, recalls, technical service bulletins, diagnostic and repair information to accurately repair and maintain your vehicle.

Oil changes - Our primary oil is Chevron; however, we will be happy to use any motor oil our customer prefers.
Lifetime Oil Change Program – this program entitles you to full service oil changes, consisting of 1 filter and 5 quarts of oil every 3 months/3000miles, whichever comes first. Included in the program is a Tire Rotation and a 32 Point Maintenance Report every 6 months/6000 miles (up to 3 times a year). For full details just call one of our knowledgeable service writers.
State Inspection – We have an inspector on site from 8am to 5pm.
Recycle - We recycle our own and your motor oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid and oil filters. Just drop them off and we’ll handle the rest. To transport all fluids please use proper containers. If you have any questions about recycling call 281-363-0667.
Our hours of opeartions are Monday-Friday 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Scheduled Maintenance
We have this checklist for you to use, to set up your maintenance schedule appointments.
Every 3,000 miles (5,000 for Synthetic oil)
- Oil Change - Lubricate; change oil and oil filter every 3,000 miles or every three months, whichever comes first.
Every 6,000 miles
- Suspension - Check C.V. axles and boots with every oil change. Check struts and shocks every 6,000 miles.
- Tires - Rotate, balance, and align every 6,000 miles to increase the life of your tires.
Every 12,000 miles
- Alignment - Align front end (and rear on some cars) each year or every 12,000 miles which ever occurs first.
Every 24,000 miles
Every 30,000 miles
- Brakes - Check every 20,000 miles. Worn shoes and pads will cause damage to drums and rotors.
- Tune-Up - Tune engine every 30,000 miles or according to owner's manual. Change plugs and check ignition, rotor, fuel filters, and other parts as required.
- Automatic Transmission - Service every 30,000 miles. Change fluid, pan gasket, and fluid filter.
- Exhaust System - (including the catalytic converter) Check every 30,000 miles.
- Valve Adjustments - Check every 30,000 miles. Especially important for imported autos.

- Replace Anti-Freeze
Every 36,000 - 50,000 miles
- Engine Belt Timing - Replace all between 40,000 and 60,000 miles. A broken timing belt can cause severe engine damage. Check your owner's manual for recommended mileage.
- Belts and Hoses –
- Replace Spark Plugs
Once a Year
- Air Conditioning System - Check and service.
- Cooling System - Flush radiator and check for leaks. The radiator should also be rodded out every three years.
- Inspect brakes
- Check C/V Boot joints
- Check Exhaust system
- Clean Battery Terminals and test battery

All repairs are warranted for a minimum of 12 months or 12,000 miles. We can perform the necessary scheduled maintenance on new vehicles to keep the manufacturer's warranty in effect.
