Parent Guidance Center
Help a parent and you've already helped a child
About Us
PARENT GUIDANCE CENTER is a nonprofit organization that gives free help to parents whose children have been removed from their homes by CPS due to abuse or neglect. PGC provides free guidance through the process in an encouraging and dignified manner. We support parents in completing CPS service plans and in changing adverse behaviors in order to promote family reunification.
PGC also intercedes with preventative assistance and education for parents who are at risk of having their children removed in an effort to decrease the necessity of removal. After a family reunification takes place, follow-up services and support are offered by the Parent Guidance Center to promote the success of reunified families. Clients can continue to use services for up to one year following reunification.
MISSION
To equip parents of children who have been removed from their homes by CPS with the necessary tools to become successful families by providing guidance with dignity, support services, education, and resource coordination in Montgomery and surrounding counties, to promote family reunification, and to provide preventative help to families at risk for abuse and neglect.
PHILOSOPHY
It is in the best interest of a child for his or her parents to get better.
VISION
Reunifying families and preventing future abuse and neglect.
PARENT GUIDANCE CENTER is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and accepts tax-deductible contributions from the public.
