THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The holiday season of giving began early when representatives from charitable, nonprofit agencies from The Woodlands to Huntsville and beyond celebrated the $116,637 in grants given by Entergy Texas, Inc. this year.

Funds distributed to 40 agencies in 2011 represent grants from the Texas utility itself and from the Entergy Charitable Foundation. Funds given represent support for educational and environmental programs as well as programs that assist low-income residents.

“It is a privilege to partner with so many Southeast Texas agencies that make such a difference in the lives of our customers and the communities where we live and work,” said Terry Allemand, regional customer service manager, Entergy Texas, Inc. “Bringing them together like this to celebrate, gives us the opportunity to showcase the work they do throughout our area.”

Pulmonary Hypertension Assoc. and The Woodlands CrawPHish Festival were among the beneficiaries. The Woodlands CrawPHish Festival will be held Saturday, March 24, 2012, from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., at Town Green Park. The Festival is a community event designed to increase awareness of Pulmonary Hypertension and the South Montgomery County Woodlands Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals.

This popular event will feature Crawfish; Rudy’s BBQ; kids’ activities provided by The Woodlands Children’s Museum, Painting with a Twist and Raising Cane’s; live bands and dancing; tent decorating contest; plus family fun and entertainment.

The ticketed event is open to the public for sponsorships and individual admissions. Proceeds benefit the Cure PH Foundation (501©3 - Tax ID 65-0880021).

Beginning in January, tickets may be purchased in advance for a discounted price at The Chamber’s Office (1400 Woodloch Forest Drive, Suite 300), The Woodlands Mall, Market Street Concierge, or online at www.thewoodlandscrawfish.com.

Sponsorships ranging from $10,000 to $250 are still available for this very worthwhile cause. Please e-mail at the button below for details.
