THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Texas Wildlife Rehabilitation Coalition (TWRC) presented County Commissioner, Ed Chance and his team, with plaques of appreciation recognizing them for their ongoing commitment and dedication to preserving and protecting our natural resources for future generations. The presentation was made by the TWRC Wildlife Center’s Executive Director, Roslyn Even, and Vice President, Cheryl Meyer-Conley, at the County Commissioner’s office Thursday, December 20. Other recipients included Robert Collins, Montgomery County Precinct 3 Special Counsel, and Legal Assistant, Deborah Arrazate. The County Commissioner’s years of service began in 1986, which will come to a close twenty-six years later. Commissioner Chance and his wife, Carol, plan on doing some traveling. “We’ve had an RV for three years. We might travel up to Oregon,” said Commissioner Chance. In the meantime, the TWRC Wildlife Center waits to see what the next era will bring. Just one year old, the organization’s volunteers have seen a tremendous increase in incoming urban wildlife. “The organization took in and tended to 80 animals from July 23 to the end of Sept,” said Tom Conley, on hand to photograph the presentation of the appreciation awards. A daunting task for a non-profit that relies solely on donations, the TWRC wildlife center located on Pruitt Road, is hopeful that the community will continue to be supportive of their efforts. Having infiltrated the wildlife’s environment, it’s a responsibility that has to be owned up to.
