MCWC to Hold "Christmas in July" Event
Montgomery County, TX -- It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at least at two locations in The Woodlands as the Montgomery County Women’s Center prepares for its annual “Christmas in July” event at their Rags to Riches locations. Customers can save 50 percent on the already low-priced items getting a great jump on their Christmas lists.
“It’s a fun time for customers to come in and save on all the wonderful items we have at both the resale shop and the warehouse,” Eva Joy said, manager of Rags to Riches. “All our items from household furniture to clothing are priced so low already, but now customers can save even more by shopping now.”
The most common misnomer about the resale shop and the warehouse is that the items are used and unwanted which couldn’t be further from the truth according to Joy.
“Many of our clothing items come to us with the tags still on them. They just sat in the back of someone’s closet for a very long time till they decided to donate the item,” Joy said. “And just last month we had a gorgeous leather sectional in the warehouse. We do get in some very nice things – things a person would love to give as a gift or to have for their own.”
Right now, Rags to Riches has made the incentive to visit them even greater. Those who visit the store between July 2 and July 31 can register to win a gift card from Bed, Bath & Beyond.
The warehouse is located at 1031 Pruitt Road and the resale shop is located at 27734 I-45 North behind Pappa’s BBQ. Proceeds benefit the battered women, men and children at the Montgomery County Women’s Shelter. For more information, call the warehouse at (281) 292-3234 or the resale shop at (281) 292-0443. Donation hours are from 10-2 p.m.
The Montgomery County Women’s Center is funded by United Way and by the Community Development Block Grant program. The Center offers free counseling, advocacy, shelter, legal assistance and support group counseling for teens and adult survivors; both male and female. Group presentations are granted upon request for further awareness on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault for civic organizations, corporations and schools. All services are free of charge. To schedule a presentation call Carin Elliott at (281) 292-4155.
