March for Babies will Benefit all Babies

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Montgomery County March of Dimes "March for Babies" was officially kicked off at First Community Bank - The Woodlands, on February 21st, by March of Dimes Chairman, Miguel Lopez, the Vice President of First Community Bank.

March of Dimes "March for Babies" will benefit prenatal care, baby birth wellness, birth defects, and multiple birth complications. Montgomery County March of Dimes Director, Gerta Fereday, introduced Chairman, Miguel Lopez, and the ambassador family, Patrick and Stephanie Guinn, with their triplets. The Guinn's are representative of families with multiple birth complications, which the March of Dimes fundraiser will be targeting. A continued proactive approach to prenatal care will lessen the chance of birth defects and multiple birth complications. The presenting sponsor for the event is McKesson; partner sponsors include Chevron Phillips Chemical Company, Memorial Herman of The Woodlands, and Sigma Genosys. The Woodlands Mothers of Multiples is the consistent winning fundraising team. In 2007 the MOMs doubled the efforts of the next highest team.

Also in addendance was Skeeter Hubert, newly elected board member for The Woodlands Community Association, with his two sons, Blake, and Kyle. Kyle was born with a serious heart defect, but fortunately time and medicine have rectified the problem.

The event will be held at Lone Star College - Montgomery Campus, on April 27th, at 9:00 a.m. Registration will start at 8:00 a.m. For more information contact Gerta Fereday at 281-744-2582. Please also visit the Web sites below.
