The Healing Tree Wellness Spa and Retreat continues to grow and thrive in Spring, Texas. The result of visionaries Dave and Mary Lou Pittman, The Healing Tree is a radical departure from the clinical appearance of shopping center spas. This neighborhood oasis of peace and tranquility provides an added dimension to spa treatments, enabling clients to integrate both mind and body. Planted on an acre of land with beautifully landscaped gardens, a waterfall, Koi pond, and swimming pool, The Healing Tree just completed Phase 2 and 3 concurrently. Its aesthetic appearance enhances the spa experience.

The Healing Tree continues to grow its list of services.

Phase 1 introduced massage therapy Treatments provided by registered massage therapists, and included Swedish, Hot Stone, deep tissue, Thai massage, holistic massages, and reflexology. Therapeutic massage, no longer considered an indulgence, is widely recognized for effective treatment of many health conditions: eliminating stress, relief for muscle and joint soreness, increasing blood circulation, and lymph function.

Phase 2 introduced state-of-the-art detoxification processes. The ion cleanse process works
by extracting bodily toxins and built-up acidity to balance the alkaline/acidity ration, thus neutralizing the ph scale in the body. The other detoxification process is also a new technology…the Far-infrared sauna. The infrared light is an important energy force that promotes healing by raising the white blood cell count. The greater the white cell count, the greater the immunity, and greater immunity means greater health. The list of other health issues that benefit from the use of infrared therapy is extensive: arthritis, muscle spasms, joint stiffness, hypertension, arteriosclerosis, coronary artery disease, blood circulation, inflammatory infiltrates, cellulitis, and caloric consumption. This provides pain relief to the elderly, detoxification to cancer patients that have had lymph systems removed, and enables the disabled to manage their weight.

Phase 3 opened a salon that offers a full range of hair care services that include trims, styling, highlights, full color, manicures and pedicures. Specialty dance classes for fitness are also taught including belly dancing, held on Saturday mornings at 8:30 a.m.. Plans are being made to offer other fitness classes.

Services are by appointment and can be scheduled daytimes, evenings or weekends. Gift certificates are available for individual sessions, joint sessions, and combinations of services. The spa can be rented to groups and companies for customer or employee appreciation rewards, and it’s an ideal concept for team-building. The Pittmans will be happy to work up a program of services tailored to a group’s specific needs.

The Healing Tree is located 1 mile east of I-45 North, at 29903 W. Hawthorne Dr., off Rayford Road. For more information call 832-618-5971 or visit their Web site.
