Cocker Spaniel Rescue Comes to The Woodlands
Cocker Spaniel Rescue Adoption Day is being held this Saturday, March 29th at Natural Paws in the Sterling Ridge Shopping Center. Adoption day, which is sponsored by the Cocker Spaniel Rescue Organization, will give area residents interested in adopting an abandoned puppy the perfect opportunity.
Cocker Spaniel Rescue is an organization that is dedicated to taking in abandoned Cocker Spaniels, rehabilitating them and finding permanent homes for them. This organization, which was formed in 1993, was started by two Cocker Spaniel lovers Sharon Elliot and Judi Fetters. “We both loved Cocker Spaniels and wanted to do what we could to help them when people had abandoned or mistreated them,” said Judi Fetters, Vice President of the Cocker Spaniel Rescue. ”The group has now grown to approximately 40 volunteers who normally join after adopting a dog from us and seeing how rewarding volunteering can be.”
If you are interested in adopting a Cocker Spaniel, Judi recommends that you fill out an application ahead of time, especially if you are hoping to take one home on Adoption Day. “The approval process consists of either a vet check if they have a current or past pet or a home check,” said Judi. “Come “Adoption Day”, their will be lots of beautiful Cocker Spaniels to choose from. Their will be all shapes, colors, sizes & ages and people are encouraged to get to know each of their individual personalities to see which one would best fit into their lifestyle.” The organization will have plenty of dedicated volunteers on hand to spend one on one time with each potential adopter to let them know as much as possible about the dog’s personality and needs. To fill out an application ahead of time, visit The Cocker Spaniel Rescue Organization’s website at http://www.cockerkids.org.
Adoption Day for The Cocker Spaniel Rescue Organization will take place this Saturday, March 29th from 11:00 am until 2:00 PM at Natural Paws in the Sterling Ridge Shopping Center.
Cocker Spaniel Rescue is a 501C-3 non-profit organization which exists primarily on donations from Cocker Spaniel lovers across the country. Most donations are tax deductible and all donations go toward care of the dogs. Many of the organizations dogs are fostered in homes around the Houston area and they are always in need of additional foster homes. There is currently over 100 dogs in their program and there is a real shortage of foster homes which has left many of the dogs boarding facilities while they await their foster homes.
