MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- Success By 6 works around the county to assure that all available resources are being tapped to make certain that as many young children as possible succeed in school. Protecting the good health of our students is crucial building block in their success. The recent collaboration of Success By 6 with Community Health Choice along with Christus Community Health Ministries is making necessary immunizations more easily available to school children across Montgomery County.

Thanks to this partnership immunizations are free to everyone. Families will not be turned away for lack of insurance or ability to pay. Staff members of Community Health Choice will be on hand to help families sign up for CHIPS, Medicaid or services provided by Health Choice.

Teresa Decker, Director of Initiatives for the Montgomery County United Way said, “It is wonderful to be able to provide free immunizations along with assistance to parents completing applications for Medicaid/Community Health Choice or CHIPS, and it is great to be able to provide these services in so many locations throughout the county.” Decker continued by saying, “It is a privilege to partner with such dedicated professionals.”

Nancy Bocanegra, Lead Community Relations Representative for Community Health Choice commented, “We will be at different parts of the county through the summer as well as later in the year, in an effort to ease the rush on back to school immunizations and to ease the burden of traveling expenses for local families.”

The program is already underway and free immunizations were administered at Smith Elementary on May 27th, at the Montgomery County United Way Service Center in Conroe on May 30th and Willis Parent Resource Center on June 23rd. Future free immunization events are planned for on July 22 at the EMCID Building in New Caney located at 21575 Highway 59 North, Suite 100, July 23rd at the Willis Parent Resource Center located at 606 N. Campbell, and on July 28th at the MCUW Conroe Service Center located at 731 West Davis.

The Montgomery County United Way is a not-for-profit organization working “to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities.” Service Centers in Conroe and The Woodlands along with MCUW Helpline connect people to essential community resources.
