Planning Underway for 'Run Thru The Woods'

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Planning is already underway for the 19th annual GE ‘Run Thru The Woods’ charity event held each year on Thanksgiving morning in The Woodlands.

The Run Thru The Woods will be held Thanksgiving Day, November 27 at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands Town Center. It features a 5-mile race, 3-mile walk, 3-mile teen race and a 1-mile children’s race.

“We are excited about this year’s race,” said Roxanne Davis, marketing director for the South Montgomery County YMCA. “The race has continued to grow over the years, and we are expecting a record turnout this year.”

In 2007, the race drew more than 4,100 participants and raised $100,000. The GE ‘Run Thru The Woods’ benefits several South Montgomery County charities including the YMCA Partners Program, local Operation Graduations, Conroe ISD AF JROTC Programs and The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Education Outreach Program.
