Memorial Hermann The Woodlands to Host 2nd Annual Educational Baby Fair in Recognition of World Breastfeeding Week

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The evidence is clear. Breastfeeding bestows unparalleled benefits to babies and moms. In recognition of World Breastfeeding Week, the Lactation Center and Perinatal Education Programs office at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital are hosting a community Baby Fair for Expectant, New & Experienced Parents on Saturday, August 2, 2008, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the hospital’s first floor conference center, rooms A/B.

The Baby Fair for Expectant, New & Experienced Parents will feature booths and breakout sessions on: lactation, developmental care, car seat safety, newborn care and baby-proofing your home. Plus booths from vendors and community resources such as the La Leche League, Mother’s Milk Bank of Austin, Medela, Avent, Zolowear, Easy Expressions and the B.I.R.T.H. Organization. Memorial Hermann The Woodlands staff will also be on hand to conduct tours of Women’s and Children’s Services – including lactation and perinatal education services. “We’re here to offer support, care and a friendly face to nursing mothers and to provide valuable information and education for families,” said Clinical Manager of Lactation and Perinatal Education Jackie Stiernagle, RN. “The Baby Fair for Expectant, New & Experienced Parents on August 2 is a free community education event that will highlight our services and our hospital, plus area organizations and vendors that will also be of interest to parents.”
