THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- On Sunday, October 12, at Market Street, 100 Cut-N-Shoot Texas Chapter Harley Owners will barrel through Market Street an their Harleys then don red high heels to march the interior of Market Street in a campaign to stop domestic violence.

The Cut-N-Shoot chapter is the largest Harley Owners Group in the nation and they are carrying the banner and walking with the Montgomery County Women's Center in the 2nd Annual "Walk A Mile in Her Shoes" men's march.

"This march is an opportunity for men to say to other men 'Stop the Violence' during Domestic Violence Awareness Month," Donna Wick said, director of communications and outreach for the Women's Center. "This is our second annual march and we are thrilled to have as an alliance partner the Cut-N-Shoot Texas Chapter Harley Owners Group."

The first march took place October 2007 in observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and was the first time in the agency's 22-year history that men said to men in a public display such as this to 'stop the violence'. The Montgomery County Women's Center and the Cut-N-Shoot Texas Chapter Harley Owners Group have formed an alliance so that the Chapter will walk with the Women's Center this year and in year's future as the chapter has had a long-standing support of the agency.

The Women's Center serves victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through crisis intervention, counseling, emergency shelter, support services and legal advocacy. All services are offered free of charge.

"With the economy being what it is, rising gas prices and food prices, the environment is ripe for the escalation of violence in the home," Wick said. "We are hoping that with this awareness raised that we can make every home a safer home."

The 'Walk A Mile in Her Shoes' men's march is sponsored by Verizon and Market Street and will talk place in The Woodlands at Market Street located off Six Pines Road by The Woodlands Mall from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon, October 12 – rain or shine.
