Early Online Registration Available for 2009 GE RUN Thru The Woods

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The South Montgomery County YMCA has announced that early online registration for the 2009 GE Run Thru the Woods held on Thanksgiving Day in The Woodlands, is available at 2008 prices from now through September 30.

For a limited time only, the South Montgomery County YMCA will provide registrants with an opportunity to save money when they complete and submit the registration form on the GE Run Thru the Woods Web site.

“We really want to encourage interested participants to register online,” said Roxanne Davis, YMCA North Group Marketing Director. “We have thousands of people register each year, which means there are thousands of paper registration forms that we go through. This year, we want to reduce our paper trail and be more green! So we are offering an incentive with online registration. It’s easy, cheaper and will help us to be more Earth-friendly with registration.”

The 20th Annual GE ‘Run Thru the Woods’ will be held Thanksgiving morning, November 26, at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Race times for the event are set with the 1 Mile Children’s Race for ages 12 and under beginning at 7:45 a.m., the 5 Mile Race at 8:15 a.m., the 3 Mile Teen Race for ages 12-17 at 8:20 a.m. and the 3 Mile Walk at 8:25 a.m.
