Williams-Sonoma Announces Holiday Cooking Classes

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- October 23, 2009 -- Williams-Sonoma at The Woodlands Mall is offering free holiday cooking technique classes this fall. From Thanksgiving turkey and trimmings to holiday cookies, there’s something for everyone.

Classes will be held on select Sundays and Mondays through Sunday, December 6. All Technique Classes will be held at Williams-Sonoma, located in The Courtyard at The Woodlands Mall. The classes are free, but space is limited and reservations are required. Call 281 298-6915 or visit the store for more information or to reserve a space.

Topics and dates are:

- Holiday Hors d’Oeuvres
Sunday, October 25 and Monday, October 26: Class focuses on how to expand your recipes for simple yet elegant starters for entertaining.

- Let’s Talk Turkey
Sunday, November 1 and Monday, November 2: The entire class is dedicated to demystifying how to cook the perfect turkey. Topics include various ways to flavor the turkey, including brines, rubs and compound butter; why the proper roasting pans, carving sets and thermometers are important; and foolproof tips that simplify a holiday meal.

- Make-Ahead Feast
Sunday, November 8 and Monday, November 9:  Learn how to make new side dishes that can be made in advanced and require minimal work on Thanksgiving Day. Class will feature recipes for vegetables, potatoes and stuffing.

- Thanksgiving Desserts
Sunday, November 15 and Monday, November 16:  Class will feature how to prepare a tender, flaky piecrust plus recipes for an updated version of pumpkin pie and more favorites.

- Williams-Sonoma Thanksgiving Classics
Sunday, November 22 and Monday, November 23: Last minute ideas for side dishes that are sure to become family favorites.

- Enjoy the holidays with Le Creuset
Sunday, November 29: Class explains what great cast iron is, its versatility and when to use it.

- Hosting a Cookie Exchange
Sunday, December 6: Tips on how to host a Cookie Exchange and some of Williams-Sonoma’s favorite cookie recipes.
