For the past three years, the Woodlands Lacrosse Club has celebrated a special lacrosse day in honor of the memory of Junior High/JV coach, Jack Schantz. “Jack was an awesome individual, who poured his heart and soul into our program. He instilled many great values into the boys that he was honored to coach at The Woodlands. Jack was stricken with cancer in 2005,
but continued to coach his team,” said Woodlands Men’s Lacrosse Club Coach Dave Seale. “Through his illness, he organized our trip to the Disney Sports complex in 2006. He made the
trip with us, but his health was failing. It was a great trip and helped elevate our program to the next level. Shortly after our return, Jack lost his battle with cancer. The Jack Schantz Memorial Lacrosse Day honors his memory and his desire to see the program grow and bring all of the teams together on a single day.” Proceeds from the event will go to the Jack Schantz Memorial Lacrosse Fund, which is used specifically to give back to the game to fund needed projects such as equipment purchases and team travel expenses.
The public is invited to the memorial event. Tickets for adults are $5 at the gate; children under 12, students with IDs are admitted free of charge. Concessions will open throughout the day.
