THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands Men’s Lacrosse JV Team beat Episcopal High's JV by a score of 8-1 at Episcopal High School (EHS) to remain unbeaten for the year.

Freshman attack Ben Lipscomb earned high point honors with 5 on 2 goals and 3 assists. Freshman attack Connor Pryor had 4 points on 2 goals and 2 assists and Freshman middie Cole Little had 2 goals for The Woodlands. Sophomore attack James Kelley and sophomore middie Chase Kurtin each had a goal and sophomore middie Mitchell Ruffer dished an assist.

The 1st qtr was not a high scoring affair as the only goal came with 4 seconds left when Little banged one home to give The Woodlands a 1-0 lead.

Ben Lipscomb assisted James Kelley early in the 2nd in a man up situation for a Woodlands’ lead of 2-0 with 8:59 left. Lipscomb was then on the receiving end of a nice dish from Mitchell Ruffer for a goal with 4:26 left in the half. Connor Pryor got on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal at the 3-minute mark to extend the lead to 4-0. EHS finally got on the board with just 45 seconds left in the half to make the score 4-1 in favor of The Woodlands at intermission.

It was all The Woodlands in the 3rd as Lipscomb assisted Pryor at the 6:48 mark. Lipscomb then decided to spread the wealth as he dished his 3rd assist to Chase Kurtin for a goal with a man up at the 4:56 mark. Pryor decided to return the earlier favor from Lipscomb by assisting Lipscomb with 3:21 in the 3rd. Pryor dished his 2nd assist of the day to Little for a goal with 2:30 in the 3rd, and The Woodlands held a lead of 8-1 as time ended in the 3rd quarter.  The 4th was a non scoring affair and the final was 8-1.

Chase Kurtin had another fine face off day as he won 9 of 11 faces. Freshman defenseman Noah Cray and freshman middie Paul Perry were co leaders in the ground ball department with 5 each.  Freshmen defensemen Ryan Clay, Cray Noah and Cody Reed and sophomore defensemen Chris Rauchle and Dylan Gorman should be recognized for only allowing one goal to EHS. Last but not least, freshman goalie Logan Mullen had a fine game in the net.
