Memorial event is set for Saturday, April 17 at The Woodlands High School Football Stadium

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands Men’s Lacrosse Association will host the Kody Soeder/Charles Alford Memorial Game Day on Saturday, April 17, 2010 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at The Woodlands High School Football Stadium. The Woodlands 8th grade, Junior Varsity and Varsity teams will compete against Strake Jesuit College Preparatory. This game counts as the final game of the year before playoffs start.

The event is a memorial for popular lacrosse athlete and student of The Woodlands High School, Kody Soeder, and Charles Alford, a sophomore lacrosse player for Strake Jesuit, who both died in separate vehicle wrecks last year.

"Kody was an outstanding young man.  Besides being an intense competitor on the?lacrosse field, he was a great friend and student who was loved by the many?people who knew him.  We miss him every practice, every game, everyday.  His?spirit lives on with us in all that we do,” said Woodlands Men’s Lacrosse Club Coach Dave Seale. “We are continually inspired by the Soeder family as they continue to support all of our efforts both on and off the field.  We look forward to this memorial event as a way to celebrate the lives of both Kody and Charles and their profound impact on all of us."

Admission is a $5.00 minimum donation price at the gate per adult, benefiting the Kody Soeder Scholarship Fund and The Charles Alford Scholarship Fund. Students and children 12 and under are admitted free.

All concession stand proceeds will benefit the Kody Soeder Scholarship Fund. For more information, please visit the Web site below.
