THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands Men's Lacrosse team will compete against Dallas Jesuit at the Super Regional playoffs on Saturday, May 1, at 4:30 pm at Houston Christian High School. The Super Regional playoffs are part of the Texas High School Lacrosse League Division I games.

The Woodlands was eliminated from the City Championships with a loss to St. John’s on Friday night, April 23. "It was unfortunate that we lost a tight game against St. John’s on Friday night which eliminated us from an opportunity to play for the Houston Division I championship.  However, I was very proud of the team's ability to quickly regroup and soundly defeat Strake Jesuit the next morning to secure the third seed for the Super Regional round," said Woodlands Men’s Lacrosse Club Coach Dave Seale. "Our road to the State Championship will be difficult, but we have faced these challenges before. We look forward to it."

With a win on Saturday against Dallas Jesuit, the team will face Austin High on Sunday, May 2, at 3:30 p.m. at Houston Christian.

"This Saturday, we will face a strong Dallas Jesuit team, with the #1 seed from the Central District, Austin High, awaiting the winner on Sunday.  We have a talented group, with a nice blend of youth and experience.  If we can play with consistency, we will be a tough team to knock out of this State tournament," Seale commented.

The two winners (South District and Central District) from Sunday’s game will vie for the State Championship the following weekend in Dallas. They will play the winners from the Central Super Regional.
