SIU Narcotics Search nabs Woodlands Doctor

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Dr. Fadi George Ghanem, a family practitioner, was arrested on drug charges after a narcotics search was conducted by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU) on Thursday evening, November 4, 2010. At about 5:45 p.m., the SIU discovered marijuana and prescription pills at a residence on West Bracebridge Circle in the Village of Indian Springs.

Authorities had received a tip that Hydroponic Marijuana was being grown inside the home. During the search, the SIU discovered a secret room adjacent to the master bathroom that was accessed from a hidden door. Marijuana growing paraphernalia was discovered in this room and in the garage. The SIU, assisted by the Houston Office of the Drug Enforcement Agency, also seized marijuana and assorted prescription pills that included Morphine and Xanax.

Dr. Ghanem, 48, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Morphine.
