Woodlands mother, son dead in apparent murder-suicide

THE WOODLANDS, Texas –– A 7-year-old boy and his mother, 41, are dead in The Woodlands in what appears to be a murder-suicide.

Montgomery County deputies found John “Jack” Crawford and his mother Stepheni Crawford dead inside their home at about 6 p.m., Tuesday at 75 N. Frontera Circle near F.M. 2978.

Stepheni Crawford’s husband came home and found them shot dead before calling 9-1-1. Detectives reported they believe that Stepheni shot her son in the living room before killing herself. A motive for the shooting is still being investigated.

Justice of the Peace Edie Connelly ordered the two bodies taken to the Montgomery County Forensic Center in Conroe for autopsies.
