Baseball: Strykers add two from College Park

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Woodlands Strykers, of Texas Collegiate League Baseball, have announced the addition of two local players from Rice University and Galveston College.
Left fielder Michael Aquino will join his former teammate from the College Park High School baseball team, right-handed pitcher Derek Wade this summer for the Woodlands Strykers inaugural season in the Texas Collegiate League.
During his senior year with the College Park Cavaliers, Aquino was named All-State outfielder, batting .395 with 11 home runs and 31 RBIs.
The 5'10" sophomore is having an outstanding season for the Rice Owls, currently averaging .333 at the plate this season. So far during his time with the Owls, Aquino has appeared in 26 Division I level games recording an overall .297 batting average and only committing one error.
Wade had an outstanding season for the Cavaliers last year, which included a district win against rival The Woodlands High School.
He is a Criminal Justice Major at Galveston college where has taken on a mid-relief/closer role for the Whitecaps and has already appeared in 10 games this season recording eight strikeouts.
The Woodlands Strykers will continue to announce additions to the roster as players sign contracts between now and Opening Day on June 1 when they take on the Brazos Valley Bombers at Strykers Stadium.
