HOUSTON -- The world's largest passenger airline plane, the Airbus A380, is coming to Texas and its new home here is at Bush Intercontinental Airport.

The jet, being flown by Germany's Lufthansa, is set to have a party with plenty of yodeling and lederhosen on Aug. 1 for its maiden landing and flight at IAH.

The public can get its first glimpse of the plane at noon on the IAH Airport Ranger Trail Head off FM 1960 just east of Farrell Road. The flight is set to arrive at 1:50 p.m.

Prizes at the party will include Lufthansa tickets.

The A380 is a double-deck, four engine jet that debuted commercially in 2007 with Singapore Airlines and can carry up to 853 passengers as approved by the FAA.
