THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Calling all actors: director Michael Cohn’s independent feature film “Sacrifice” will be holding auditions in The Woodlands on Jan. 19 and 26 at The Woodlands Chamber of Commerce.

Auditions in late January and filming in the summer of 2013

“Sacrifice” is a feature-length film produced by actor Forest Whitaker’s production company, JuntoBox films. It is about four high school boys whose lives get turned upside down after a hunting accident in the woods.

The film was chosen from among three hundred projects within the JuntoBox community to receive funding. Interns will be chosen from students at Houston Community College, and casting will be mostly local.

Auditions have already been held at Rice University, University of Houston, Sam Houston University, the High School for Performing and Visual Arts and Houston Community College. In addition to the January auditions in The Woodlands, auditions are being scheduled at Houston Community College in February.

All major roles are currently available, as well as many smaller roles. The cast breakdown is available on the film’s website, as well as instructions on how to sign up for an audition.

Writer and director Michael Cohn has 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry, including writing original scripts and screenplays and directing three feature-length films. He was a lecturer/senior lecturer at UT Austin for six years, a guest instructor for Chapman University and an adjunct instructor for the Houston Community College filmmaking program.

"I'm very excited to be filming in The Woodlands and I want to keep it as local as possible," said Michael Cohn. Shooting for the film is scheduled to take place during the summer of 2013.
