The Woodlands Children's Museum offers art activities at The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Woodlands Children’s Museum is packing up its favorite art supplies and bringing them to The Woodlands Waterway.
From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, April 13 and 14, the museum will join The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival as a charity partner, stationed in the event’s Artopoly section.
Artopoly is where children and their families can participate in hands-on, interactive workshops that encourage children and their families to discover artists, materials and techniques.
The museum’s executive director Angela Colton co-chairs the Artopoly area. “The festival brings so many incredible artists to the area – and it’s also a great venue for children to get creative and explore art,” Colton said.
The museum’s booth is titled “A Child’s Journey Through Art Mediums,” and children are invited to try several projects using various art supplies and even recycled objects.
Children can create a dream catcher, beaded necklace or recycled maracas. Other children’s arts activities include making tin foil necklaces, Japanese koi windsocks, whimsical fairy crowns, jing-tingler bracelets, egg cup flowers and silly heads.
The museum also needs volunteers for the booth. For more information or to sign-up as a volunteer, contact Kayleen Barton at kbarton@woodlandschildrensmuseum.org.
Fostering creativity is a specialty of The Woodlands Children’s Museum – which offers everything from art to science to make-believe and magic. All activities are included in the cost of admission. Daily Admission is $5 per person 2 years and older. Admission is free for children under 2 and museum members. Recommended for ages 7 years and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
