Student Athletes of the Week - October 22nd

The WOL Sports Student Athletes of the Week presented by Mr. Rooter are Senior middle blocker Alyssa McNeely of College Park High School and Junior wide receiver Dirk Sanford of The Woodlands Christian Academy.

Alyssa McNeely - Senior Middle Blocker - College Park HS

Alyssa totaled 28 kills in two matches last week helping lead College Park (21-9, 7-2) in wins over Conroe and A&M Consolidated last week. For the season, Alyssa leads the Cavaliers with a 41 percent kill percentage along with 61 blocks. Alyssa helps lead the Cavaliers this week with matches at Lufkin on Tuesday and at home on Friday, October 25 against The Woodlands at 6:00 p.m.

Dirk Sanford - Junior Wide Receiver - The Woodlands Christian Academy

Dirk totaled three punt returns for touchdowns in the Warriors 79-0 win at O’Connell of Galveston on Saturday night. Dirk’s punt returns were for 37 yards, 39 yards, and 56 yards, respectively. Dirk’s returns were part of the Warriors’ six special teams touchdowns on Saturday night, all in the first half. Dirk helps lead the Woodlands Christian (5-2, 2-0) on Friday night as they host Cypress Christian at 7:00 p.m.
