Lady Highlanders too much for Bryan
THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The Lady Highlander soccer team returned home on Friday night looking to continue their three-game winning streak, as they’ve outscored their first three district opponents by a combined score of 9-0.
In the first half, the Lady Highlanders got six shots on goal in the game’s first 8:00, putting the pressure on. The attack game didn’t take long to materialize for The Woodlands as Summer Stanley scored in the 12th minute of the 1st half as the Lady Highlanders had a 1-0 lead. The Bryan Vikings continued to have problems with the Lady Highlander offensive attack as the Lady Highlanders struck again, eight minutes later when Carmen Webster finds the back of the net and the Lady Highlanders take a 2-0 lead.
The Bryan Lady Vikings had so much trouble with The Woodlands pressure, they didn’t threaten with an attack until the 23rd minute and managed just two shots on goal in the first half, as the Lady Highlanders had a 2-0 lead at halftime.
The Lady Highlanders finished strong scoring three more goals in the game's final 10 minutes. The Woodlands is now 4-0 in district play and has outscored their four district opponents by a combined 14-0 score.
The Lady Highlanders look to continue their winning ways when they travel to face their cross-town rivals, the College Park Lady Cavaliers on Tuesday, February 18.
