THE WOODLANDS, TX – There’s a little something for everyone this weekend. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will each have their own particular – and diametrically opposed – flavors, giving your weekend plans and wardrobe choices whiplash.

At least one day this weekend should lean towards indoor activities

Right now on a Friday morning, we’re in the middle of a low pressure system and a dropping humidity level, which – combined with rising winds – makes for an increasingly cloudy, muggy day. It should for the most part remain dry under mostly cloudy skies, getting us up to a high of 81 early this afternoon. Within a few hours of that, however, we’ll be back down into the 70s. This might be a good evening to head up north a few miles to jam to the 2nd annual Conroe Crossroads Music Fest.

Overnight Friday into Saturday, the humidity will rise as the cloud cover becomes complete; your chances of late-night stargazing will drop to about nil. In the predawn hours, the thunderstorms will start brewing, and as they hit their peak throughout the morning and mid-afternoon, the temps will soar into the upper 80s, pushed up to a heat factor of 90 by the high humidity. With luck, the thunder and precipitation will keep at bay in the morning hours so that you, your kiddos, and your dogs can enjoy the Memorial Hermann IRONKIDS and Doggy Dash event.

The likely chances are, you’ll go to bed with the sound of rain and thunder in your ears. But overnight into Sunday, everything will dry up as the pressure rises and the humidity drops.

Sunday morning will dawn bright and cool, with winds out of the north gusting up to 15 mph making the high temperature of 75 – which we won’t even hit until late afternoon – feel much cooler. Without a lick of rain in sight, you can spend the last day of your weekend in outdoors comfort. Though it’s been running all weekend, this might be the best day to enjoy The Fidelity Investments The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival.

Next week starts off with more of the same, but it doesn’t look like the rains are quite finished with us yet…
