Historic Preservation of Conroe Community Cemetery
CONROE, TX -- Project Coordinator, John Meredith gave a presentation on the Conroe Community Cemetery Restoration Project at the February meeting of the Spring Creek Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution as part of Black History Month.

The Conroe Community Cemetery was historically an African-American cemetery. It has graves dating back to the 1890’s. The graves include emancipated slaves, railroad workers, and 1 confirmed Buffalo Soldier buried there. The Conroe Community Cemetery Restoration Project is committed to preserving this piece of history in Conroe.
