THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Montgomery County Food Bank has announced the latest opportunity to make a far-reaching difference for area residents in need.

Donate to Build Today, Feed Tomorrow

The organization has announced the Build Today, Feed Tomorrow campaign, an ambitious initiative to expand and renovate the Food Bank. According to a statement from the organization, this expansion is not merely about bricks and mortar; it's about expanding hope, nourishment, and support to our neighbors in need.

"Central to our expansion plan is the enlargement of our Produce Rescue Center. By doubling our current space, we can rescue and distribute even more fresh fruits and vegetables to those facing hunger," said Kristine Marlow, president and CEO of Montgomery County Food Bank. "It's about ensuring that individuals like Gloria, a 71-year-old Food Bank client who once shared, 'I love making a good stew,' have access to the essential ingredients they need to create wholesome meals. With an expanded Produce Rescue Center, we can empower our community members to prepare nutritious dishes that nourish both body and soul. With over 40% of our distributed nutritious food being fresh produce, this expansion is not just about quantity; it's about quality nutrition and healthier futures for our community."

The organization's vision extends beyond physical infrastructure. With a new welcome center and enhanced workspaces, they aim to create a warm and welcoming environment for both visitors and volunteers alike. By accommodating larger volunteer groups and ensuring increased safety measures, they can unite even more individuals in the fight against hunger.

The Food Bank witnessed a staggering 23% increase in monthly client contacts from 2022 - 2023 alone.
