The Woodlands Township Celebrates Bike The Woodlands Month in May

THE WOODLANDS, TX – May is recognized as National Bike Month throughout North America, and for the seventh consecutive year The Woodlands will host a number of activities celebrating the event. The Woodlands Township, with support from Bike The Woodlands Coalition, is offering a variety of events in May for residents to get involved and help create a better community through bicycling.

Bike to Work Day will take place on Friday, May 17, 2019, from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Northshore Park, 2505 Lake Woodlands Drive. Bike commuters are invited to meet for refreshments and bike commuting information. Businesses are encouraged to remind employees of this unique opportunity to celebrate Bike Month in The Woodlands with Bike to Work Day.

Bike The Woodlands Day, a family-friendly event, will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019, from 9 a.m. to noon, also at Northshore Park. Exhibitors will include local bike shops, bicycle clubs and other supporters of National Bike Month. This event will include bike maintenance and flat tire repair demonstrations, bike safety information, children’s activities, a kids’ bike rodeo, live music, food and more. Looking to fix up your bike? Buy, sell or swap bike parts at the Bike Swap Meet. Sellers are still needed! Interested sellers will need to sign up to participate by visiting the registration site at www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/bicycling. Bike Month participants who have registered or are registered for a Bike Month ride or workshop may pick up their commemorative Bike Month T-shirt at the event by visiting The Woodlands Township tent inside Northshore Park. Bring your no-longer-needed bikes to Northshore Park as a donation to Interfaith of The Woodlands. Bikes are requested to be in decent working condition.
