THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Your summer gig is waiting! Applications for The Woodlands Township's seasonal aquatics positions are open now, offering exciting opportunities for those interested in working as lifeguards, swim instructors or swim coaches. In addition to aquatic roles, The Woodlands Township has a variety of other seasonal positions that will become available in early 2025, including Recreation Aides, Camp Counselors, Boat House Aides, Texas TreeVentures Adventure Course Operators and roles within Environmental Services.

Township seasonal job applications open now

Working with The Woodlands Township provides opportunities to gain experience and have fun throughout the year, not just during the summer. This is your chance to secure a seasonal job early and get certified over the holidays (for aquatic positions).

Lifeguard certification classes begin in December, making it easy to complete your training during the Christmas break. Best of all, training and uniforms are provided at no cost. Apply early to choose which certification class and pool works best with your schedule. Lifeguards in The Woodlands gain valuable experience in water safety, teamwork and emergency response, making it an ideal role for students or anyone looking to build their resume. Average summer pay is approximately $3,000, based on a part-time schedule of 20-30 hours per week for 10+ weeks with opportunities to earn more. Starting rate for new lifeguards and camp counselors is $12.50 per hour. Check the job postings for the starting rates for all other positions.

  • Front Row Seat to Major Events: Township lifeguards have the opportunity to work at high-profile open-water swim events, such as the Ironman competition. Lifeguards onboarded by March will qualify for these events after completing the necessary training.

  • Pre-season Shifts: Early applicants can complete the onboarding process in time to start working as soon as the pools open, with potential opportunities to work premier spring events like triathlons.
