The Woodlands Township Holiday Schedule

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Township provides a variety of activities and services to help residents and visitors make the most of the Thanksgiving holiday. From skating at The Ice Rink to exploring adventures at Texas TreeVentures or enjoying a day on the water at Riva Row Boat House, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Additionally, residents are encouraged to take note of holiday schedule changes, including office closures, adjusted trash and recycling services and transportation updates.

The Woodlands Township closures related to Thanksgiving:

• The Woodlands Township offices, The Recreation Center at Bear Branch and The Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park will be closed Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29, 2024, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
• The Woodlands Express Park and Ride buses will not be in service on Thanksgiving Day or Friday, November 29. The Town Center Trolleys will not run on Thanksgiving Day, but they will run on Friday, November 29. For more information, please visit thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/transportation.
• No curbside service of recycling and trash pickup on Thanksgiving Day. If your regularly scheduled collection day is on Thursday, your trash, recycling and yard waste will be picked up on Friday. Likewise, if your regularly scheduled collection day is on Friday, your trash, recycling and yard waste will be picked up on Saturday. The standard service schedule will resume on Monday, December 2, 2024. thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/holidaytrash.

The Woodlands Township offers residents and visitors a variety of activities to enjoy during the Thanksgiving Holiday:

• The Ice Rink is open every day, including Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving Day first session begins at 4 p.m. and the last session begins at 6:30 p.m. The complete schedule is available on online at thewoodlandsicerink.com. Please note: Advance booking online is highly encouraged to ensure capacity is not already met for your desired skate time.
• Don't miss out on Sunny Dayz Thanksgiving Break Camp starting on November 25, 2024. Campers will enjoy holiday-themed games, arts & crafts, nature hikes, park visits and more! The camp costs $50 per day. Thanksgiving break camp is held at The Recreation Center at Bear Branch Park, 5310 Research Forest Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77381. • Texas TreeVentures has timeslots available for reservation every day from Thursday, November 21 through December 1 except for Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024. TreeVentures will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. Reservations are recommended to be made a week in advance and can be rescheduled up until 48 hours prior. • Riva Row Boat House will be open regular hours, 9 a.m. to sunset, all of Thanksgiving break, except for Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28, 2024. Lakes Edge Boat House will be open its normal operations hours. Boat reservations are highly recommended due to the holiday season, especially with schools being out and holiday travelers.
