Having recently retired after 30 years of service with the YMCA and served as the Community Liaison/Event Director, this event has always been my favorite event. The 1st annual Dancing for a CAUSE was in 2013. The community embraced it. It has been exciting to see the event grow and flourish. It provides the YMCA a unique opportunity to share the Y’s story and mission creatively and visually along with a personal touch. I have deep admiration and gratitude to ALL the community leaders who stepped way out of their comfort zone to light up the dance floor, share their Y story and Dance for a CAUSE. It has always been my dream to Dance for a CAUSE when I retired. So here I am . . . I have come full circle from Event Director to Cast Member. I am dancing to support 3 CAUSES/Programs that are close to my heart: YMCA Bright Life, YMCA Outreach and YMCA ForEverWell Seniors.
