THE WOODLANDS, TX – Friday has started off, well, pretty good so far, and it’s presaging the weekend ahead. While it’s been bright and dry all morning, momentarily some white, fluffy clouds will come wandering in as the dropping humidity levels out. The mercury is practically shooting up through the digits and will soon settle around 80 degrees for our high, with no heat index to add to it and brisk winds getting up to about 15 mph to help keep it cool-feeling. The early morning chilliness we felt earlier will be gone for a while, and our low will hit 60 degrees as the pressure front keeps lessening.

Easter weekend will allow for outdoor fun

Saturday will maintain a partly cloudy status all day and night. There may be a slight chance of a couple of sprinkles, but for the most part the clouds will remain precipitation free. Once again, the temperature will steadily rise after dawn, this time making it all the way up to 83, with another degree added thanks to the resurgent humidity. As like Friday, the winds will bring up some moisture from the south as they hover around 10 mph. The warming trend will continue into the night with a low of 66.

On Easter Sunday, the cloud coverage will increase to nearly stretch horizon to horizon, and coming with it is a 25 percent chance of some light rain in the morning hours. We’ll reach up to 83 for a high with another degree added because of humidity again, but the winds will stay brisk, and chances are the parks will be filled with kite-flyers as a result.

As you crawl into bed Sunday evening to feel the overnight low hit 69, rest assured that next week will start off with more of the same, but there may be some rains coming in and out…
