Dr. Sumbul Tahir is a board-certified internal medicine specialist who has been in practice since 2013. She earned her medical degree from Baqai Medical University in Karachi, Pakistan, and completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Dr. Tahir, who sees patients 18 years and older, focuses on preventive medicine. Among the conditions she treats are diabetes, hypertension and obesity. She speaks Urdu.
Prior to moving to the Houston area, Dr. Tahir was an internal medicine hospitalist with Northshore University HealthSystem in Chicago. At Northshore, she also served as an assistant clinical professor, teaching students and residents from the University of Chicago's Pritzker School of Medicine as part of their clinical rotations.
Dr. Tahir was motivated to become a physician by her fascination with medical science and its role in improving people's lives.
