Roomba 805 Robot Vacuum - $99 - Works Wonderfully on Hard & Carpet Floors

You can literally plug this in, charge it, and let it roam your house, and it picks up _everything_. It's wonderful. And the vac 'bag' is a breeze to empty; I usually dump mine in the trash every other day or two.
Just push a button and it cleans!
Robot will clean and then recharge back at home base if required (all parts included - Roomba unit and home base). Even if the battery runs out, it simply goes back to home base, charges up, then resumes its' cleaning mission! (Batteries are easy to replace if desired, and cheap on Amazon.)
The parts that touch the floor (the rollers) are clean, but they can easily be replaced if you prefer (ie using someone else's vacuum is 'unclean' for some people; there is only one part that needs to be cleaned here, and I've cleaned it nicely.)
I love mine. That said, the 805 model isn't as smart as the 989 model; it does tend to 'bump around' on floors more than the 989 model. It eventually will complete vacuuming a floor, of course, but it doesn't do it with as neat, orderly lines as the newer 989 model does. But if you don't need to manage it, who cares? It's great!

The reason you should buy iRobot Roomba products is they are USA supported, and the parts are EASILY available at Amazon and even BestBuy and other local stores, so if you do need new parts (say, a roller or a brush or something simple) all the stores can help you and you can replace the part. That's a huge advantage compared to the onslought of Chinese no-name brands out there today. It's made to have parts that are easy to replace so it will keep running for a long time.
