French Brittany carved cabinet
Description
Antique French Brittany carved chestnut cabinet known as "bonnetiere" or "armoire Breton”, a beautiful example of traditional French craftsmanship. Historically, a "bonnetiere" was used to store linens and clothing. Today, this versatile piece can serve as a storage cabinet, a display case, or a statement piece in any room. Aprox 54” tall, 40” wide and 12” deep. It has been in the family for over eight decades and, according to my research, should be around 100 years old. It has never been restored. The photographs show the condition; some parts of the legs could use a touch up. Serious inquiries only. Feel free to make an offer. Low balls will be ignored. Thanks!!
