2019 Surley Long Haul Trucker - 62 CM - Tall Mans Bike
If you're a tall guy, this is the bike for you. Unfortunately, in the last couple of years my shoulders and wrists have not allowed me to do the distance that I have been accustomed to due to joint deterioration. (Both wrists were broken in a non cycling accident way back in High School.)
This bike is in excellent condition. Waxed 2x per year. Tuned 1X per year. Whoever buys this bike is going to get an excellent value in that I'm including a slew of extra's that will include a nice Brooks shock absorbing leather touring saddle. The Jones touring / gravel bars were an add on that stay with the bike. Gearing was upgraded from a 9 speed to 10 speed rear cassette arrangement. The bike in other words is a 30 speed bike made for touring and training and gravel riding (10 gears rear and 3 chainrings front). I also upgraded the shifter to "thumb shifters" and to accomodate a lower gear ratio that would allow for me to easily climb steep hills loaded. The more upright rider position is also a major plus, especially if your prone to having lower back or neck pain.
The frame is made from classic chrome-moly Reynolds tubing. Light for a chrome-moly bike but super strong and easily capable of hauling the largest of riders along with full touring gear if you ever decide to do a tour.
The original bars and brake levers were hardly used and will go with the bike. They are the "drop" bars that came stock on the bike when I purchased it new from a local bike shop here in the Woodlands. I will also include an extra set of tires as well as a set of tubes and the pump you see on the bike.
The wheels are 700c custom built for my 210lb weight and to carry gear. I am also including the original wheels that came with the bike at no cost to you. They were never used. Brakes are conventional caliper which are easily repairable and replaceable out on the road on tours.
