The Woodlands Symphony Orchestra invites the community to an evening of festive holiday music and spirited sing-alongs on Dec. 22 at The Woodlands First Baptist Church, 11801 Grogans Mill Road, The Woodlands, TX. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the concert begins at 7 p.m.
“Don your holiday apparel and join us for one of the largest sing-along events in town,”said WSO Artistic Director Darryl Bayer. “This year’s holiday concert will bring joy to the whole family, blending classic holiday tunes, symphonic arrangements, and a special opportunity for the audience to sing along with the orchestra.” Under the direction of Maestro Bayer, the orchestra will perform such holiday favorites as “Feliz Navidad,” selections from “The Sound of Music,” and Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus.” The program includes songs that everyone treasures, as well as a special selection just for kids. One lucky audience member will have the opportunity to conduct the orchestra for Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride”. And—as is WSO tradition—the orchestra will perform a special narrated rendition of “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
Talented female vocalist Vanessa Hunter will rejoin the orchestra for an encore appearance after her hit debut at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in September. Hunter will lead the audience in a sing-along of classic holiday songs, creating a joyful and interactive experience that is perfect for spreading holiday cheer. “This concert is a wonderful way for families and friends to celebrate together, and there’s truly something heartwarming about singing holiday music as a community,” added Bayer. “We’re excited to welcome everyone to sing along and share in the joy of music this holiday season.”
General admission tickets are $10 and available for advance purchase at www.eventbrite.com or on the day of the event at the door.
