Job Description

• Process bi-weekly payroll and record appropriate transactions.
• Manage child support garnishments, levies, or any other mandated garnishments.
• Responsible for compliance with all applicable federal state and local laws and for submitting timely federal, state, and local reports, including payroll tax reports, sales reports, retirement fund and insurance reports, TWC reports, and Workers’ Compensation reports.
• Verify and process education program reimbursements and provide reports as needed.
• Prepare and analyze billings for federal, state, and private funders.
• Allocate, track, report contract-funded expenses accurately and provide reports to ensure that expenses are appropriately spent within grant terms and deadlines.
• Review operating and program budgets to identify trends affecting budget needs, and ensure adjustments are made in accordance with program changes to facilitate long-term planning.
• Prepare data and documentation for programmatic and contract monitoring visits.
• Prepare and make bank deposits as needed.
• Assist with preparations and distribution of financial reports.
• Prepare W-2’s
• Maintains records of attendance/absenteeism, turnover, overtime, etc.
• Assist with monthly and year-end closings, financial reporting and analysis, and general accounting activities.
• Assist in preparation of year-end work papers for the external auditor and assist in facilitating the audit.
• Clearly communicate and effectively collaborate financial and accounting concepts with colleagues who do not necessarily have finance background.
• Foster a positive, productive, and collaborative working environment.
• All other duties as assigned.

Skills Required

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or business administration or equivalent experience. Five years working in a business setting and three years of supervisory experience. Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles. Proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel experience and QuickBooks. Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to work independently and to multi-task.

Compensation:

$15.00-$19.00/hour
