Endocrinologist Shivani Toma, joins Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Shivani Toma, M.D. has joined Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital as a board-certified endocrinologist. She has a special interest in diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal and pituitary issues, osteoporosis, and other bone/calcium disorders.

Toma joins The Woodlands from Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. She earned her medical degree from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, where she also completed her residency in internal medicine. Toma completed her fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism from Baylor College of Medicine / UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She is board certified in endocrinology and is fluent in English and Spanish.

In describing her approach to care, Toma said, “I believe patient education is key so that patients understand the management choices we’ve made together for their diagnosis. I focus a lot more on small changes made day to day that patients can stick to long term, rather than drastic measures that they can only stick to for a few months.”
