HS Girls Basketball: Oak Ridge Wins Big Over New Caney

THE WOODLANDS, TX – It’s the start of the Girls Basketball district season and the Oak Ridge War Eagles hosted the New Caney Eagles Friday night at their home court.

It was a slow start for the Eagles as Oak Ridge ran through their defense and hit many buckets from the paint. Angel Emeh sank 6 of the total 18 points in the first quarter for Oak Ridge.

From the first quarter to the last, Oak Ridge held the lead scoring 24 by the half and leading New Caney by 12 points.

In the third quarter, Oak Ridge held New Caney to just 5-points and stopped many of the attacks from their offense. With the Oak Ridge defense setting up a brick wall, their offense went to work to increase their lead.

As the fourth quarter buzzer rang, Oak Ridge found themselves with a dominate win against the New Caney Eagles. Final score would be 46-29 and Oak Ridge will add another win to their district standing.
