Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center has a December full of activities, parties

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Canopy, a first-of-its-kind cancer survivorship center in the greater Houston area located on the campus of the Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center, has announced a December filled with activities and events, including the annual holiday party taking place on December 15 at 3:00 p.m.

The Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center offers a wide variety of free programs and services addressing the emotional, physical and social needs of those touched by cancer, and is open to all regardless of if they are a patient – or family member of a patient – of Memorial Hermann or not.

For December, activities include:

  • Mondays – gentle yoga; virtual Spanish lessons; cancer orientation; needlework; pet therapy
  • Tuesdays – Intermediate Spanish; healing art; caregiver support; grief support;
  • Wednesdays – Spanish lessons; tai chi; mah jongg; TIRR head & neck cancer support; breast cancer support; book club; cancer education
  • Thursdays – Intermediate Spanish; zumbz; bible study; meditation; legal workshop; cancer support
  • Fridays – chair yoga; coffee & support; mah jongg; nutrition in action; pet therapy; happily nourished; men’s lunch

The mission of Canopy is to provide the finest support, education and integrative medical services to all those impacted by cancer regardless of where patients are receiving treatment. The Center serves as the primary location for activities aimed at helping patients and families throughout all phases of their illness, as well as assistance in navigating life after treatment. Created to be a warm and welcoming place with all elements centered on creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere for those who visit, Canopy is a home-away-from-home for cancer survivors and their families.
