THE WOODLANDS, TX – Today, Friday July 5, is a fugue state on a couple of fronts. First, it’s the day after the July 4 celebration, but still a workday squeezed in between the federal holiday and the weekend. Half of us are at work today and the other half is kicking back on ongoing patriotic celebration. Second, we’re in the quiet part before Hurricane Beryl makes Texas landfall and most likely drenches us for a few days.

With that in mind, Woodlands Online has put together a list of things you can do as an adults-only outing or a family fun-fest to end out the weekend before the next workweek – and possible hurricane fallout – hits on Monday.

Friday

If you haven’t had enough explosions and loud bangs, head on over to Copendero Indoor Archery, Pistol, & Rifle Range for their Full-Auto Friday, where you have the opportunity to try out any of their full-auto firearms without paying any rental fees.

Down the street in Magnolia, they’re following up all the July 4 events with their own a day later. Join the City of Magnolia’s annual fireworks show at Magnolia Unity Park. The event begins at 5:00 p.m. with food trucks, inflatables, live music, face-painting, and free entry, and the fireworks show will begin at 9:00 p.m.

Saturday

Experience a night of pure R&B nostalgia as Xscape and SWV with Special Guests Mya, Total and 702 take the stage live at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion at 7:00 p.m. for The Queens of R&B Tour. We may have some evening thunderstorms, so plan accordingly.

If you want to play it safe and stay indoors, Fielding's Local Kitchen & Bar is hosting a special menu event with its All-American Food Drink all weekend long starting at 3 p.m. daily. There will be live music performances, special red, white, and blue cocktails, and dinner features that are truly American.

Sunday

By now, the weather will seem to be outright threatening, so you’ll want some indoor comedic fun to lighten the mood. Head on over to Two Tones Dueling Piano Bar to catch Jesse Peyton & His Comedian Friends’ Live Comedy Show starting at 7:00 p.m. These guys will guaranteed keep your mind off the storm clouds brewing outside.

However you tackle the weekend, be sure to party responsibly and stay tuned to Woodlands Online for traffic, weather, and event updates.
