THE WOODLANDS, TX -- As we continue our collective recovery from the impact of Hurricane Beryl, we want to share some reminders and updates to ensure everyone stays informed and safe. Your cooperation and patience are key as we work together to rebuild and restore our community.

Trash and Recycling Service
Waste Management will be collecting trash and recycling today. This week’s service is delayed by one day. Please be patient. There are streets that are still blocked and there is likely to be heavier collections than normal. If you experience a missed pickup, please leave your container curbside. Waste Management will be monitoring the missed pickups and will provide service as soon as they are able.

  • Monday's pickup will be on Tuesday.
  • Tuesday's pickup will be on Wednesday.
  • Wednesday's pickup will be on Thursday.
  • Thursday's pickup will be on Friday.
  • Friday's pickup will be on Saturday.

If your street is blocked, but you are able to place your trash container next to the container of a neighbor who is not blocked, you may do so. Make sure the bins are spread far enough apart, usually four feet, so that the truck can pick them up.

The Woodlands Recycling Center will be open tomorrow, July 10, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. and is located at 5402 Research Forest Drive, behind the Bear Branch Recreation Center. Household waste is not accepted. Items must comply with guidelines.

Power Restoration
Entergy and CenterPoint continue their efforts to restore power. We will share information as it is made available. In addition to monitoring the outage websites and signing up for alerts, please follow the providers on social media for additional updates.

Damage and Debris
As you begin to clean up and plan for repairs to your home and property, please keep in mind the following information.

We will provide additional storm debris collection information as soon as it is provided from Harris and Montgomery counties.

Fallen Trees
Due to the high sustained winds over several hours, there are numerous downed trees and debris throughout the community.

  • If a tree has fallen on your home or vehicle and you need emergency assistance, please call 9-1-1. DO NOT call 9-1-1 if it is not an emergency. The Fire Department will not remove trees from your home or property.
  • Report fallen trees that are blocking roadways to Montgomery or Harris County.
    • Harris County Precinct 3 | 713-274-3100
    • Montgomery County Precinct 2 |281-259-6492
    • Montgomery County Precinct 3 | 281-267-3977
    • Montgomery County Precinct 4 | 936-597-4444
  • Residents may report fallen trees from Township property onto private property through the 311 web portal or by emailing 311@thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov. Town Hall phone lines are currently unavailable. Please provided a detailed description so we can efficiently enter and prioritize the work order into our system. While the Township is not responsible for trees that have fallen onto private property, we may clear them as a courtesy.
  • It is the homeowner's or property owner’s responsibility to remove trees that have fallen onto private property.

Emergency crews continue to clear roadways as they are able. If you submit a request, please be patient. The high volume of requests may result in a delayed response.

Due to the community-wide power outages, Town Hall is closed, and all non-essential services are suspended for Tuesday, July 9, 2024. This includes The Woodlands Express and Town Center Trolleys. Park crews are currently assessing park and swimming pool damage. Park bathroom facilities remain closed. Township swimming pools will not open until damage assessments are complete, repairs are made and power restored.

Heat Advisory
The National Weather Services has issued a Heat Advisory for Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Heat index values up to 106 degrees are expected. Please drink plenty of water, limit outdoor activities during the middle of the day, wear light clothing and sunscreen and check on family and pets.

Cooling Centers
In The Woodlands, a cooling center has been set up at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 26777 Glen Loch Drive. The cooling center is located in the church event center and residents should use the south entrance. Red Cross signage is visible at this entrance. Please monitor the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management Facebook page for additional information.

A select number of Harris County Community Centers are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the public to charge devices and enjoy free Wi-Fi in an air-conditioned facility.
