SHSU’s MBA Program Surprisingly Affordable

HUNTSVILLE, TX -- For parents whose children are aiming for a ‘Masters of Business Administration,’ or MBA, Sam Houston State University in Huntsville ranks seventh for most affordable online MBA program in the United States. University ranking site Research.com examined a range of universities that offer an online MBA program, focusing on their estimated tuition per credit hour for non-residents and total credits. A ranking was then created to discover the most cost-effective options. So for less than the price of a new economy car, it’s possible to obtain an MBA that yields salaries up to eleven times its original cost.


Sam Houston’s MBA program is the most affordable for Southeast Texas at $320 per credit hour and a total of 36 credits, but judging for the most affordable tuition rates you have to travel to more rural points such as Northeastern State University, in Tahlequah, OK, with tuition cost of $251 per credit hour. Georgia Southwestern State University is second at $257 per credit hour. Texas Tech University in Lubbock, is ninth at $333 per credit hour. While Lamar University in Beaumont ($420), and Texas A&M in Texarkana ($478), round out the Top 29 Universities on the list.


Each university has differing requirements for acceptance, and separate starting dates. Sam Houston’s program has start dates in the fall, spring, and summer, making it a flexible choice. Texas Tech’s Rawls College of Business online MBA program allows you to study either full-time or part-time. Lamar’s program takes only a year to earn for full-time students, and is centered not only on theory but also on practical applications. While Texas A&M - Texarkana partners with local businesses to teach current information and allows students to practice in real-world situations.
