Gil Staley Announces Retirement from The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- After nearly 20 years of dedicated service, Gil Staley, Chief Executive Officer of The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership (EDP), has announced his retirement effective February 1, 2025.

Throughout his tenure as CEO, Staley has been instrumental in attracting new businesses to The Woodlands Area, spearheading the business retention and expansion efforts, and leading the operational and financial success of the organization. Gil Staley joined the EDP with a wealth of experience and leadership in business development and community engagement.

Throughout his career, Gil Staley's leadership and commitment have been pivotal in advancing economic development efforts and enhancing the quality of life in the region. He has contributed significantly to various community boards, including currently serving on The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce Board, Gulf Coast Workforce Board, Conroe North Houston Regional Airport Advisory Board, and United Way of Greater Houston Regional Council, and Montgomery County Community Foundation Board. Gil is also actively involved in professional organizations such as the Texas Economic Development Council, the International Economic Development Council, and the Commercial Real Estate Association of Montgomery County. Staley also has the distinction of being honored as a Hometown Hero, in recognition for his many contributions to the community.

On his retirement, Staley expressed his gratitude, saying, "It has been a privilege to serve our community alongside a dedicated team at the EDP and our community partners. I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together and am confident in the EDP's continued success in the future."
