THE WOODLANDS, TX – Junior League of The Woodlands (JLTW) awarded a $10,000 grant this year to New Danville, a nonprofit organization that provides adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities an opportunity to live enriched and purposeful lives and learn, work, and grow in communities of their choice.

Local nonprofit celebrates 35 years of service

The grant came at a time when New Danville is celebrating 35 years of service to our community. The funds from this generous grant were used to purchase new equipment, expanding New Danville's classes with advanced technology to implement interactive technology solutions that enhance Wrangler opportunities and capabilities.

New equipment purchased with the JLTW-awarded grant funding allows New Danville staff to incorporate interactive technology such as educational smart boards and interactive Oculus devices into their day program, significantly enhancing program efficiency and fostering holistic client growth. These tools not only facilitate immersive learning experiences but also offer avenues for skill development in areas such as communication, cognitive abilities, social interaction, sensory integration, and fine motor skills. Utilizing educational smart boards promotes interactive learning sessions tailored to individualized educational goals, while the interactive Oculus technology can provide immersive environments for therapeutic interventions, vocational training simulations, and recreational activities, ultimately empowering our clients to thrive in diverse aspects of their lives.

Junior League of The Woodlands, Inc. is an organization of women whose mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
