The Woodlands, TX — Just before 7:00 AM today, emergency crews from The Woodlands Fire Department (TWFD) and the Montgomery County Hospital District (MCHD) were dispatched to a serious rollover accident on the I-45 southbound main lanes near Lake Woodlands.

Engine 106 and a supervisor from MCHD were the first to arrive on the scene, discovering a vehicle that had struck a tree and ended up in the median between the main lanes and the feeder road. The driver was found trapped inside the vehicle and was unresponsive.

Firefighters immediately initiated resuscitation efforts while simultaneously working to free the driver from the wreckage. Utilizing specialized rescue tools, the team was able to extricate the driver within approximately five minutes, continuing critical care efforts throughout the process. The driver was then transported to Hermann Memorial Hospital for further treatment. Their condition remains unknown at this time.

One other vehicle was involved in the accident, but no injuries were reported from that vehicle.

TWFD received assistance from the South Montgomery County Fire Department and Needham Fire & Rescue/Montgomery County ESD#4 in the rescue operation. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is currently investigating the cause of the accident.
